Beautification project
Through creating this project I made a color wheel around a clock to brighten up the room and help other students focus on time management and creativity. One thing I would change about this project would be how slow it went, I would try to speed up the process or add the rest of the design to the final outcome after getting an extension. One thing I liked about the project would be the experience that I gathered. For example, previously I had never gathered any experience painting on a wall, or anything except canvas or paper. Through getting the experience of painting on a wall I realized how hard it really is and found a new respect for every artist or person who has painted a picture or idea on a wall throughout time.
This project is both theory based and design based. This project is theory based because it uses the concept of color theory through the color wheel. Color theory can be explained as a guide for color mixing with its visual effects or outcomes. This project is also design based because I created a design idea with scale layout and then proceeded to complete the design in the designated area. The research that I did in order to create this project was talking to multiple teachers to see what they wanted beautified throughout the school. Then, with the responses I asked the same teachers what their ideas were for the areas that I had chosen and what they thought about my idea. Through gathering this information I created multiple designs to help beautify classrooms. Finally, I submitted the design idea I liked the most and got it approved by Castillo and Mrs. Lohr.
There were many steps that I went through in order to create this project. At the beginning of the project I researched information given to me by different teachers. Next, I planned out a few sketch ideas. In the following weeks, I submitted a final design idea ad got it approved by Mr. Castillo and some of his staff. The same week I got the idea approved, I gathered materials and started the layout of my design in the classroom that i chose. After finishing the layout of the design, I began to tape and paint the design according to the labeled color choices. Finally, when I was done with the color wheel I made a neutral grey color and created a box around the completed color wheel and filled the box in so that all of the lines from the color wheel were clean and crisp. After the project was done, I talked with both my teacher and the teacher of the room and gathered constructive feedback from them.
